Would a man's pet be acceptable to one of these pets shelters or is it only women's pets?

http://www.ct.gov/governorrell/cwp/view....

Because we all know that women are never perpetrators of domestic violence and a man's pet should be a man about it if it is abused.

Darlin, all I want is some EVIDENCE that men need charity help in order to leave an abusive spouse of girlfriend. That's all. Show me some, and I'll be right there with you building that shelter.

EDIT: Yes, I agree that domestic violence against men is a serious problem. I'm still not finding any evidence that they need shelters to escape abusive relationships, however. What if the existing shelters became better educated about the problem in order to help any men who came to them?

what a strange law.... so when you see a puppy with a black eye and it swears it ran into a door....

A man might not be able to stay at a 'woman's' shelter, but pet shelters don't refuse to take in an animal simply because of the owner. If a man is being abused by his spouse and he wants to find a place to keep his pet safe, they won't deny it. It's sexist if they do.

I probably misread your question, and therefor misanswered it, but oh well.
you've made some major assumptions there... perhaps you should get that shoulder looked at, looks like a big chip is missing....

the law does not specify the pet owner's gender. it just cites examples and stats concerning women, since women are about 3x more likely to be victims of deadly domestic violence.
Looks to me like men's rights have been completely erased when domestic animals are more important than men.

Not surprising, however, as feminism has been striving for decades to marginalize men in any way and as much as possible. Also not surprisingly, the governor in this instance is a woman (shock, awe), nor that it comes from the north, where most ignorance and intemperance is located.

Isn't it funny. The state of Conn. feels dogs, cats and other pets to be of more importance than human men, unless Conn. has established shelters for abused men... which I doubt.

Says a lot about the residents of Conn., nothing good, however.
Fell On Black Days.......did you get smacked around by your mom....

:(

I hope not, but if that is the case, then seek psychological help instead of the women's forums.
Never heard of pet shelters discriminating against men and refusing their pets.... The info you linked to didn't state the gender of the domestic violence victims, only the stats listed in the article referred specifically to women victims, since women are the majority of domestic abuse victims in the US.

In spite of your ideas about feminists and feminism, many support services exist for battered men in the US and world-wide: (some include services for men, women, and children, not just men):

If you've been or are being abused, I suggest you use the services provided. You sound very angry.
