US

We eat both goats and pigs which are routinely kept as pets. Generally when some are born the most people friendly ones are sold or kept as pets while the rest head off the slaughter.

The parents of the slaughtered animals are frequently considered pets rather than livestock unless its a straight meat farm.

i thought it was japan that ate dogs, can you imagine that if they came over hear and saw a little beagle "come little sparky!" LOL!
They eat dogs, cats in China. In Korea they eat dogs but they are not domesticated ones though. They are bred for that purpose. It doesn't make it any better imo. Just stating a fact. Dog meat is also eaten in some parts of India, Indonesia, the Philippines.

Apparently guinea pigs are eaten in Peru.
