Is it bad to be really attached to your pets?

I had a horse die around Christmas and I just cry every night. Do you think pets go to heaven? Do you think they watch over you? I know this is a stupid question, but I was just wondering.

you cant help but get attached to your pets if you are human I mean they have feelings also and yes I belive pets go to heaven we had a doberman named Jack and we had to have him put down in 2004 because of cancer in the tissues and I know he is in doggy heaven then we took in a dog someone droped 8 mos ago Whitey and he was chucked full of heartworms and when he ied Tuesday night I told him it was ok to go to doggy heaven now and the next morning he was gone when we went to check on him I still cry over my Jack and my husband %26amp; I still cry over Whitey today

Well I believe that there is an afterlife and pets may go to heaven and they may watch over you. Just pray.

I'm not sure where they go, or if they watch. I guess that depends on your religious beliefs, and whether you believe in an after life in the first place.

Anyways, it's GOOD to be really attached to your pets, if you weren't, you probably weren't a quality owner. What's the point in owning a pet, if you aren't attached to them?

The only time it's ''bad'', is when it's time to say 'goodbye'. It's hard.
no it is not bad to feel this way. Pets become part of our families. We forget that they are animals and they become part of the family. I believe their will be animals in heaven because it says in the bible that the lion will lay down with the lamb and that babies will play with the snakes and not get bitten.
An animal is a loved one. And everytime you lose a loved one you always hope for the best. It is okay to cry over an animal. Animals do go to heaven. Innocense takes you to heaven and animals are deeply innocent. I bet your horse is watching over you and misses you like crazy just like you are missing your horse, but your horse has lots of other horses around to play with and make new friends. If you were to get another horse possibly even a baby horse to watch grow, you would feel better and your horse would feel better too knowing that you are happy again...........
I think it is good to be attached to pets. When they die you just have to find a way to get over it maybe get a new horse. I had a guniea pig named Stu who died(we had to put him down)(he had a bad disease)and I was so sad(same with my other one Molly she had infections)but we got another one named Stutwo(Stu2). He is so cute! I think they go to heaven and watch over us because they love us and God loves us. PS: It is not a stupid question,its just a common problem! :-)

I am a Christian and so is my family, my sister says that animals don't go to heaven I don't know why but thats what she says. On the other hand I believe that they do go to heaven and watch over us just like the rest of our family does. I think that if your not attached to your pet that you weren't a good owner and they were probably miserable because they weren't getting the love and attention that they want and need.
