Does anyone own a Pit bull along with other pets?

I am a cat person, I want one when I get my own place but I also want to adopt a pit bull too. Any advice from people who have pits along with other pets would be great thank you!!

I have 13 dogs, 5 cats, and a turtle. My Pit gets along very well with all of the other animals. The cats boss him around, and he just thinks the turtle is very amusing but he's never tried to hurt any of them.

I have a friend who has a dog that is mostly pit bull and she has had cats, birds and toads with her dog not bothering them. But it definitely depends on the dog!!

i dont but a very good friend of mine has a pit bull ... he had several other animals and they all got along great
honestly it depends on the dog.
My mix pit is very good with other dogs and cats. It depends on the temperment of the dog you are getting... They all have thier own personality.
i had a pitbull. and a lot of out side cats she never did anything to them. she acted like they werent even there.it depends on the pitbulls past..
I have a bunch of kitties, an australian shepherd, and 2 pit bulls! The dogs are good with the cats, not rough... Start teaching your pup early and let the cats smack it a couple of times... The dogs learn quick... Ours only annoy the cats when they lick them! (which is SO funny- wet cat!) As it is the shepherd is the boss of the dogs! (and he's 1/2 the size!) So, don't worry that you can't have both, it just tales training like any big dog/cat household... Peace!!!
i have a pitbull rescue and thats one thing we make sure they get along with others dogs and people knowing these dogs are fighters the best thing is to get a puppy or a dog that has been around other dogs good luck in finding you the right dog just double check with the people before getting one thanks
I HAVE OWNED THREE PITS AND THEY HAVE GOTTEN ALONG WITH EVERYTHING EXCEPT CATS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO EAT THE CAT.
we just got an American pit bull terrier and she is great with our lab/border collie mix, but we have not had her around cats. try it though. the important thing is socialization. get the pit around as many dogs or any animals as possible, so the get used to them. in most cases, pits are aggressive because they are surprised, and not comfortable. if they are not surprised, they will be comfortable, and not aggressive.
I have a pit bull and she is great! We left her with my grandmother and her cats and she was fine. The breed is so great! My old pit would definatly be fine with a cat and other animals. It all depends on the personality of it just like any other breed. Its a wonderful type of dog so good luck!
